Interview & Survey

In our beginner team, we have conducted 20 interviews in our neighborhood, including target audiences from all demographic segmentation.

“By March 2022, Wuhan City already has 500+ units in use in different regions of the city.”

“How might we streamline the COVID testing process to minimize wait times and maximize efficiency, ensuring rapid and dependable results for individuals?”

Conducting COVID tests is crucial for normalizing epidemic prevention measures. Traditional testing methods often require excessive time for ID verification and involve a substantial number of staff per site, which is costly for the government.

SOLUTION

I contributed as a product and UXUI designer to the 1.0 version of the Nucleic Acid Helper project developed by Wuhan Saisi Technology Co., LTD.

For the 2.0 version, our company made a strategic decision to adopt a more classic design aesthetic, moving away from the previously futuristic look. This shift aims to embrace timeless design principles, enhancing user familiarity and comfort. Alongside aesthetic changes, we have made significant enhancements to streamline the COVID testing process, ensuring a simpler and more efficient user experience.

As of March 2022, over 500 units of this updated product are operational across various parts of Wuhan City.

To enhance efficiency and reduce costs in COVID testing, we have developed a streamlined system that includes a mobile app and two innovative testing devices. This system allows citizens to register for tests via their mobile phones and receive a QR code. At the testing site, they simply scan the QR code at an automated registration machine to retrieve their sampling materials. This approach significantly reduces the need for manual input from sampling staff, lowers staffing requirements, and creates a safer, less congested environment at testing facilities.
